Collection of early Texas documents 1822-1859

This collection of miscellaneous period documents was intentionally assembled for the autographs. Signatures belong to those who signed the Texas Declaration of Independence, those for whom counties were named, and those who functioned as high officials in the Republic of Texas. The collection also includes an official deed of sale in Spanish signed by Estevan F. Austin (Stephen F. Austin) in 1826. Most documents relate to court cases, promissory notes, slave sales, and estate considerations, but there are also certificates of stock, drafts, bonds, letters, and land grants.
